Contemplation – Communion – Compassion
 

From Jan 14th to 16th, 2018 a three days special seminar to the juniors was conducted on theme ‘Contemplation – Communion – Compassion’. This gathering was a remarkable experience for all the 98 juniors for it happens once in three years. A warm welcome was given to them with expressive dance. Every junior felt welcomed and was well disposed to enjoy the three-day gathering.

The key note address of our Mother General Sr. A. Mary Stella, on the theme was so effective. She invited us to participate involving and committing ourselves totally.

The theme was taken dealt by Mother General taking Jesus’ prayer life in the Gospel. Jesus’ intimate relationship with his father as an example she emphasized that our intimacy with God should be deepened like Jesus’. Reflecting on the community life she explored the life of Jesus with his family, apostles and common people and suggested that to model our life on his. Dealing with the topic ‘compassion’ she quoted the merciful attitude of Jesus that enabled him to reach out to the needy. She reiterated that our attitude and behaviors should be merciful and kind.

Sr. K.V. Rosa, the Assistant Superior General dealt the topic with the reference from our constitution. She spoke about the power of prayer life and its reflection in our community life and ministry citing appropriate texts from the constitution.

Rev. Sr. Louisa, the General Councillor had given a brief explanation on Word of God for the evangelization ministry. Rev. Sr. S. M. Stella, the Vice Provincial of St. Aloysius Province, Madurai gave the significance of Psalms in our religious life. They can be used and we can attach our emotions and feelings with the psalmist to make our prayers more personal and intimate anywhere, at any time for any cause.

Rev. Sr. Josephine Mary Stella, the General Councillor dealt with the topic based on the letters of St. Paul who insisted to have the mind of Jesus. Rev. Sr. Celine Hilda Mary, the General Councillor and Sr. Maria, the Vice Provincial of Ansaldo Province, Andhra Pradesh shared their own personal experiences for the practical life in the community. It was inspiring and igniting.

There was a group discussion analyzing the present community set up and its support and encouragement in the life of the juniors. The Mother General took time to meet the juniors year vise and motivated them to live happy religious life. There was appropriate cultural program for relaxation. All the juniors were happy to receive a small gift. They dispersed with content heart and mind.
